Through the Exhibition Seminar, students move beyond studying exhibitions to creating one. From selecting artworks to writing catalog essays and installing the exhibition, they experience the work of museum professionals firsthand.

This summer, Zamil, a rising fourth-year student majoring in art history and sociology at ������Ƶ College, will travel throughout Chile to research these remarkable works of protest art with support from the Don and Noël Anger Art History Senior Thesis Research Fund.

Neva Zamil ‘27 was recently awarded the prestigious Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service. The scholarship, created by President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Airbnb's Brian Chesky, aims to shape empathetic and cooperative leaders by exposing them to new places and experiences that will allow them to create meaningful change.

Professor of Art History Jenny Anger is studying how admiration for female “madness” has affected the reality of women artists with mental illness.

David Cambronero ’16 expected to major in biology and then go on to medical school. But when he took History of Art and Architecture, he became enthralled by the professor’s deep knowledge and passion for the subject. He was captivated.

The project draws upon a wide range of sources, including historical archives, cartography, the built environment, soundscapes, and contemporary visual cultures of the “postcolonial colony.” WaveMaker grants are part of a regional regranting program supported by the Warhol Foundation.

Introduction to Art History (ARH 103) is a foundational course that makes active use of the ������Ƶ College Art Collection, exhibited and housed in the College’s Museum of Art. According to Professor Jenny Anger, much of the coursework is based on the close study of these works of art.

The art history Exhibition Seminar course is a rare opportunity for undergraduate students to curate an exhibition. The course culminates in a show in the ������Ƶ College Museum of Art and in the publication of a catalog.
